Overcoming Negativity Through Witnessing

Greetings Yogis and Yoginis,

In class this week we are talking about “Overcoming Negativity Through Witnessing.”

The harder we struggle against our negativity, the more energy we give it and the stronger it becomes. The only way out is to watch. If you are maintaining your stance as a witness, you will catch your mind spinning out a string of negative comments. Then, you can intervene.

-Aruna Bhargava

The reflection from the quote is to use your asana practice as a training ground for observing your thoughts. Notice what comes up and intervene in order to become more present with your practice. Then take this work off of the mat and apply it to your negative thoughts.

Blessings,
